Bangalore: Benazeer Baig's story begins in a building on one of the many bylanes of Bismillah Nagar in Bangalore.
"People say art and films imitate life but in this case, I decided to adopt from the film Munnabhai," says Benazeer.
Benazeer, president, Raza Educational and Social Trust, runs a school for around 500 poor children of the locality.
To expand the school, she had bought a building, which was being used as a godown by a furniture company.
But the company refused to move out. "They just didn't understand that this is my property and refused to move out. They issued a legal notice to me. All I wanted it for was my children. I had to teach them," says Benazeer.

After struggling for nine months to evict the tenant, Benazeer had all but given up hope, till Lage Raho Munnabhai happened. The day after she saw the movie, she marched into the company's office with 20 children, and presented a card and bouquet to the manager.
