New Delhi: It's going to be an action-packed summer courtesy Hollywood. Three blockbuster franchisees are releasing their third editions within weeks of each other this summer.
Spidey swings out of Marvel Comics for the third time in Spider-Man 3.
Made on a budget of approximately $258 million, this sequel is not only the most expensive film ever made in the US, it also has the red and blue Spidey turning black - and literally as the USP of the latest installment is that it explores the darker sides of hero and villain alike.
Also, sailing into a theatre near you is the third edition of the ultimate pirate film franchisee, Pirates of the Caribbean: At the World's End.
In At the World's End, pirate Jack Sparrow is not in the pursuit of his sworn enemies or the dead man's chest. Instead his friends Will and Elizabeth are in pursuit of the imprisoned Jack.
If the last Johnny Depp starrer edition became one of the highest grossers in Hollywood history raking in more than $450 million in the US alone, this edition hopes to be no different, with Johnny Depp giving it his best shot!
That's evident when one hears Johnny Depp agreeing to get inside a cannon and being vaulted out to sea.
"Are you okay with that?" asks the film director?
"Sure, let's do it!" says Depp, all enthusiastic.
And if that wasn't enough, then look for entertainment in the world of ogres and talking donkeys in Shrek 3.
In this edition, Shrek and Fiona bring together a dream team of the who's who from the far away land of fairy tales including Snow White, Cinderella and Pinocchio.
So its an action packed summer this year as a superhero, a pirate and an ogre take on each other at the box office for your attention.
