Miss India crown row: Harshita's loss, Tanvi's gain!

Mumbai: Tanvi Vyas is a lucky girl.
Three days after missing the Miss India crown by a hairline (Tanvi was the third runner-up) Tanvi is now the winner of Pantaloon's Femina Miss India Earth 2008.
Her luck comes at the cost of another girl's bad luck.
Harshita Saxena, former winner of the title, voluntarily surrendered her crown.
This, after three days of drama, denials and threats of a court battle!
Harshita finally gave up her crown dream on April 10, accepting the breach of contract alleged by Maureen Wadia, chief organiser of the Gladrags MegaModels Hunt.

Apparently, Harshita participated and won the crown, while her contract with Gladrags was still effective. This was against the rules of Gladrags as well as Pantaloon's Femina Miss India 2008.
On April 10, Harshita conceded defeat through a letter, saying "I apologize to the officials of Pantaloons Femina Miss India 2008 and voluntarily surrender the title of Pantaloons Femina Miss India Earth 2008. It was an oversight on my part."
