Rohit Khilnani, Mumbai: It’s Shah Rukh Khan’s 42nd birthday today and he wanted to do something different this time. You have seen him play different roles on the big screen.
But in real life Shah Rukh Khan adorned the editor’s chair yesterday. Mumbai’s tabloid Mid Day invited King Khan on his birthday to be the guest editor.
He visited the news paper office in Mumbai, spent time with the editorial team, exchanged ideas and notes with reporters, wrote his editorial and met the photographers basically everything that an editor does.
But at the end of the day, he told us that this is not something he is the best at. "I have done it but I would like to leave this job to the people who know it, Journalism is the job of big responsibility," said the actor.
Mid Day’s Group Editorial Director, Shishir Joshi, said, "He had a lot of inputs as a guest editor. He sat with our team and discussed sports a lot."
There was a time when Shah Rukh and Mid Day had a lot of differences. Though today he is sitting on the editor’s chair he doesn’t hesitate to talk about it.
