Mumbai: Technology is meant to make life easier;and here's one such example! Watching that movie you've been wanting to catch could now just be a swipe away.

That's because of a new ATM that dispenses DVDs instead of currency. The Any Time Movies has become a fad among movie buffs and holds up to 5,000 titles at a time.

It serves up a bit of convenience as well. From shopping malls to ice cream parlours, the machine has already been placed at five locations in Mumbai.

Easy Entertainment, which makes the machines, believes, they will soon become a new distribution network for the film rental industry.

Says MD, Easy Entertainment, Raaj Vakil, "By the end of 2008, we will have over 500 such machines across the country. Once we have that network in place you would be able to take out a DVD in Delhi and put it back in Mumbai for as low as Rs 75 a day."

And if you like soaps, you can also choose a popular English television serial. Right now, the machine only dispenses Indian and international blockbusters, but the company is also in talks with Microsoft, EA and Sony to offer gaming software for consoles and PCs through this machine.

With a growing appetite for home entertainment, the future for these machines sure looks like a blockbuster.
