Mumbai: Your romantic Valentine's Day card can crash your computer!
A warning was issued by the Federal Bureau of investigation that said that there could be spam e-mails speading the Storm Worm malicious software (malware).
The agency press release said, "The e-mail directs the recipient to click on a link to retrieve the electronic greeting card (e-card).
Once the user clicks on the link, malware is downloaded to the Internet-connected device and causes it to become infected and part of the Storm Worm botnet."
A botnet basically detects criminal activities over the Internet, such as spam e-mails. The FBI also warned saying that holiday seasons are the times that are prone to these activities and everyone should be aware of e-mails received from unknown senders.
