Here was Parminder aunty who loves kitty parties and her husband Happy Singh. And then there's this gentlemen who hates Mondays. These are some of the characters, which adorned Sushil Bhasin's pebble gallery.
Bhasin is a pebble artist who breathes life into lifeless pebbles. He has been dabbling in pebble art for about two years and his gallery boasts of more than 7,000 pieces already. All of them have a distinct character and an identity of their own.
So where did the idea of pebble art spring from?
Humour is what Bhasin takes his true inspiration from. From a Chandraswami look alike to angry and highly embellished Amma and even Dalal Street's inhabitors, from a Bollywood aspirant to a wannabe glam doll, he has them all.
And some are even sprinkled with advice. Creativity can be expressed in many forms. So, when Bhasin went to Rishikesh and found these stones he said he was fascinated and thought it to be quite challenging.
Ranging from Rs.200 to Rs.1,000, his pebbles are a huge hit with his much-amused audience. And just in case you are wondering what use can they be put to, well, that's for you to devise.
Use it as a paperweight or probably a home accessory, which will certainly make you smile after a bad day at work.
