George Koshy, Mumbai: The fairer sex is not just making money for herself. After testing out the waters with their own money, many women are taking on the responsibility of multiplying someone else's money.
Like investment advisor Snehal Sheth who has earned her spurs in what has traditionally been a male dominated industry.
It is trust that may have prompted 48-year-old Sheth to do what she does today. No ordinary homemaker, her day might start like that of any other woman in her Gujarati community, but definitely doesn't stay that way.
"My husband does share bookings and I joined him 15 years ago. And I found it very interesting but because my children were small and they had their exams and sometimes they were not well, so I was coming part-time over here. Now they both are grownup and are on their own, so I can spend more time over here," says Sheth.
Today margin trading, underlined stocks or scripts - none of these are new words for her. As much as the ease that she understands them.
She now ensures other women too follow. "Women also want they should earn something. They see me working and they also want to do something," says Sheth.
Something even her seasoned stockbroker and foreign exchange expert husband will vouch for. "She is a sattabaaz. She will go with minimum profit, she'll not lose the money," says Snehal Sheth’s husband Kamlesh Sheth.
Insurance, mutual funds or an alternate investment option, all those tips on her fingertips but her only regret? "My husband gives me more money to invest," says Sheth.
