New York: A new study reveals that smoking can increase the risk of erectile dysfunction among men.
The more you smoke, higher the risk. A research revealed that 7,684 men between the ages of 35-74 stand a higher risk.
The association between cigarette smoking and erectile dysfunction was examined by researchers Jiang He, professor of epidemiology at the Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine in New Orleans.
The examination was done by way of questionnaires to assess the participants who did not have vascular disease.
Science portal EurekAlert revealed that there was a significant statistical link between the number of cigarettes that men smoked and the likelihood of them experiencing erectile dysfunction.
The link between smoking and erectile dysfunction was stronger in those with diabetes. Erectile dysfunction is not a life-threatening condition but it compromises well-being and quality of life.
