Mumbai: On the same Carter road in Bandra that Alister Pereira mowed down seven pavement dwellers in the wee hours of November 12, 2006, on June 2, 2007, another joyride of six underage youngsters went awry.
The 17-year-old driver lost control of the Honda Accord which then veered into a streetside bhel puri stall injuring two vendors.
“The kids lost control of the car. They were really young,” said one of the victim's relatives, Virendra Gupte.
All occupants of the car including the driver are reported to be under 18 years of age. They were produced in court on Sunday and let off on Rs 5000 bonds.
"They have been asked to present themselves in the juvenile court tomorrow," said the defense laywer, S S Gandhi.
Meanwhile, the injured, father and son Omprakash and Sachin Jaiswal, have been admitted to Bhabha Hospital and are reported to be stable with no life threatening injuries.
