If your child takes home a bear that has no clothes on, the staff puts a big ribbon around it. Also all bears get bows to put on the bear ears. These bows have rubber bands, so your child can make his bear wear them easily.

If you can't buy a house for the bear to stay in, the store provides you with that too! It's a complimentary cardboard one, but it is made real well.

Before you leave the store the staff makes you recite a poem. This poem talks about how your child gave the bear a life and now promises to take care of it.

Birth Certificates

Finally, what you need to do is name the bear she takes home. Once you decide on a name and enter these details in a computer, you get a printed Birth Certificate for the bear.

So Should You Buy One?

The Build A Bear Workshop animals are expensive, but the quality of the product is fantastic. The product is a popular brand name internationally. So if you do buy expensive toys for your kids then this is a good buy. If you can't really afford it, but still want your child to have one then you can buy the basic bear for a child or fix up a budget and make sure he sticks to it.

Well, the bears don't teach your kids how to count, sing or dance. But when you buy the bear, the entire process of putting a heart in the bear, is like giving it life.

Also once your kid names the bear and gets her a birth certificate, it is almost like taking home a baby. You can make him responsible for the baby.

Also since the help a lot in pretend play, these toys are great for your young children. So we think that if you can afford to buy your child one, go ahead and do it!
