But, if you have a problem with fittings, skipping trial can be a bit of a problem. Here's how you can buy an outfit without trying it on…
1. Pick What You Wear
While street shopping, make sure you pick something similar to clothes that you usually wear.
Pick cuts that you know suit you. This is not the time to experiment, what you feel can look good can turn into a disaster.
You don't always need branded clothes to try a new cut, but a new cut whether branded or unbranded should not be bought without trying.
2. Stretchable Fabric
Fabrics that are stretchable tend to give you a better fit than those which are not. So if you are looking for a better fit, look for ones that stretch.
They may be difficult to find but you will be on the safer side.
3. Suitable Colours
Hot pink and parrot green might be among your list of favourite colours but it's not necessary that they will suit you.
Sometimes we tend to pick shades that we love and not those that look good on us.
4. Easy to Alter
If a choice of sizes is not available and only one standard size is available, make sure that the outfit can be altered.
If you think it will be tight for you look out for margins at the side, so it can be altered.
The fabric should be strong enough to go through alteration. Pick trousers even though they are too long for you. The length can always be cut and shortened.
Then simply take it to your local tailor who will alter it for about Rs. 30.
5. One Size Larger
Always pick a size larger. Clothing that you get on the streets is usually smaller than the sizes mentioned on them.
Always go by the size that is appears to be and not what is mentioned on the tag. But, if you are too sure about the size you are picking go ahead with your size.
