If Your Kid is Between 13-15 Years
1. No More Cool Gadgets
Valerie Francis says that whenever her 14-year-old son misbehaves, she refuses to buy him a fancy electronic gadget that he wants. He always gets threatened when she tells him that she won't buy it for him.
Withholding such benefits really helps keep her son in check. So try it out with your kid too. If she really wants something she will surely behave.
2. Cleaning up
How can you benefit by punishing your son? Well you can make him make your cupboard.
Kids hate clearing up so imagine how bored they will be if they do it for you.
Warning: Your son may do the cleaning in a hurry and mess up the cupboard even more! If this happens, then just make him do it again!
3. Iron the clothes
Next time your teenage throws some attitude, make her do laundry for the day. Let her do all the ironing. She will get so tired by the end of it, that her worked up temper will disappear.
4. Cook
You tell your son to put all the food into the fridge and he forgets. The food gets ruined and you are back in the kitchen at dinnertime whipping together a quick last minute meal.
But the next week it happens all over again! So what can you do?
Simple, just ask him to put dinner together! Even if he can't cook at all, let him make sandwiches. Make sure he doesn't try to bribe you into ordering takeaways.
Remember…
"Don't threaten to do something that you won't do or else your child will realize that you don't mean what you say. Get your husband on your side. If he doesn't lay down the law with you, then your son will know whom to turn to when he wants to get his own way," says Varsha.
Remember when your kid does something bad it's necessary to punish her. But it is equally important to reward her when she does something right.
